Terms of play and privacy

Your account

One account signs you in to the launcher, the game's leaderboard and co-op. Keep your password to yourself; if you forget it, a recovery code sets a new one. You can delete the account at any time from the launcher's Account page.

Who can play online

An account is for players aged 16 or older; by accepting these terms you confirm that you are. URBAN DECAY shows violence, blood and horror. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.

Play fair

Do not cheat the leaderboard, attack the servers or pick a name meant to offend or to pass for the game's staff. An account that does can be suspended.

Names and moderation

Your display name, your crew's name and tag and your server's name are seen by other players. They must not be illegal, hateful, sexual, offensive or pretend to be the game's staff. Anyone can report one by email to ThePostModernTruth@gmail.com (urbandecaygame.com/legal says how). The game's staff check reports and the names they come across, and can rename a name, crew or server, delist a server or suspend an account. Each action and its reason are recorded and are in the file you can download from the Account page. If you think a decision is wrong, write to us and we will look at it again.

What is kept

Your username and display name; your password and recovery codes only as salted one-way hashes; when you made the account and accepted these terms; your sign-ins (the device name you gave and when each was last used); your lifetime game stats and play time, for the leaderboard; problem and crash reports you choose to send, with names, paths and addresses removed on your PC first; and, while you host a co-op game, a friend code with your address stored encrypted, deleted when you stop hosting or after four hours.

What is not kept

No email address, real name or payment details. Your IP address is never stored as it is: rate limits use a one-way code that changes every day.

Your data

Download everything the account holds from the Account page at any time. Delete the account and its sign-ins, stats, recovery codes and friend codes are deleted with it; reports you sent stay, no longer linked to you. Nothing is sold or shared.

A game in development

URBAN DECAY is still being made: features change, servers can be down, and online records may be reset. When these terms change, the launcher asks you to read and accept them again.

The law

These terms are governed by Danish law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer law where you live. Write to us first if something goes wrong: urbandecaygame.com/legal has the details.
